One thing you can always count on in Oaxaca are the stunningly beautiful mornings every day of of your stay at "La Encantadora" while you have breakfast on the Kitchen patio and chat in the morning to plan for the day ahead!

Partial view of the gated community of 12 beautifully built and landscaped houses, all of which were built by the same renowned Oaxacan architect Emilio Carranza. Each house has a completely different design, but all have the same materials of adobe and cement. Just strolling along the cobble-stoned road is a feast for your eyes!

Each of the main floor rooms like this have wall-to-wall windows to keep the place bright and cheery. This view is especially romantic when seen at night. The exterior lighting highlights the features and gives the feeling of openness to the outside.

Kitchen Patio

When we stay here, we love to spend an hour in the morning and discuss the day ahead. It is also a time when neighbours sometimes drop by before taking the children to school.

In the mornings, we never eat anywhere else, and of course with Oaxaca's ideal climate and sunshine this is a daily event for the family.

Throughout the villa our love for the place is shown in the attention to detail to make your stay nothing short of perfect.

This gives you a better view of the rear alcove of the living room. These doors slide open on both sides to give you the open-air feel of the house.

La Encantadora is especially gorgeous at night with both direct and indirect lighting thoughout. The gardens and patios around the house are specially lit to provide the warmest atmosphere possible.

As you have certainly noticed, Helene is a passionate lover of gardens and plants. If you look above the "cantera" or stone wall that serves as a backdrop, you will see a beautifully designed garden full of exotic plants and busshes.

Main Dining Room

This view of the dining room is taken from the window side of the room. Great for formal or casual dining. The table seats 8 comfortably.

Master Bedroom with walk-in closet

This spacious room has a King-size bed with a private walk-in closet and bathroom with Jacuzzu type bath tub and shower.

Den and Television room

Relax and enjoy a Blue Ray movie in home theatre surround sound after a day of shopping and sightseeing in Oaxaca'a zocalo!

Lower Bedroom Suite

This bedroom also has a king-sized bed and a large tiled bathroom with shower. The window opens to a garden on the inside of the property on rear terrace.

Upper Bedroom

Enjoy the typical warmth of a mexican room with it's brilliant colours! Each bedroom has a full bathroom with shower in beautifully tiled floors and walls.

Private patio off living room

Listen to Mexican music and chat in this romantic alcove. From here you have a fabulous view of the living room and gardens on the other side of the house.

Enjoy a romantic dinner with friends on the rear patio!

This is one our favorite past-times. We love preparing meals and having friends over dinner. It also serves as a great place for having some duplicate bridge!

Enjoy a range of paintings and artefacts from a host of countries such as Peru, Mexico, Bali and others.

View of the San Felipe foothills

Feast on the incredible beauty of the Oaxacan foothills with privacy and tranquility all around. From our roof-top terrace, you have a view of the babbling brook, beautiful vegetation while listening to the sounds of birds of all types and colors.

This terrace is the place to be after 5:00 p.m. as the sun is still out and beginning to set on the beautiful mountains around us. The view at this time of day is absolutely spectacular! It is also a place where a breeze will help cool you down when it gets hot.

Master Bathroom

Enjoy a jaquzzi or shower in our Master Bedroom. All bathrooms in the house are fully equipped and tastefully decorated with spanish tiles throughout.  Your bathing pleasure is enhanced by our pressurized water system to ensure you don't have to position yourself under the shower head to get wet like one finds with  gravitational water supply system!

Even our 4th bedroom / maid's room is tastefully decorated for your comfort!
